Katie is the Chief Strategy Officer of Women in Capital Markets (WCM), a national not-for-profit that promotes the acceleration of equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) in the Canadian finance industry.
During her career at WCM, Katie has been a driving force in creating more equitable and diverse workplaces where everyone has equal opportunity to advance and succeed. She is the co-author of the landmark ED&I report The Equity Equation, which examines the experiences of women, BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+ and other underrepresented groups in Canadian finance and offers an innovative roadmap for firms towards improved ED&I. She began her career in film production, working on documentaries and corporate productions, before launching her own marketing business.
Katie is a recipient of the Globe and Mail’s 2021 Report on Business Changemakers award, which showcases the emerging leaders transforming business today. Katie earned a BA degree from Queen’s University with a major in Film and Media Studies. She is a graduate of the Canadian Institute’s Marketing Strategy Program and a former Board Director of Studio 180, an independent, Toronto theatre company.
